Work with Viva Engage from Outlook
Applies To

People with recent versions of Microsoft Outlook can now interact with Viva Engage conversations, questions, polls, and praise without leaving their Outlook inbox. This integration enables users to continue to focus on email while collaborating with colleagues, interacting with managers, and participating in communities.

Yammer integration with Outlook on multiple platforms

Viva Engage's functionality enables users of Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, Outlook for iOS, and Outlook for Android to actively work with Viva Engage right in their Outlook Inbox.

Note: If you don’t see this experience yet, you might be using an older version of Outlook. Check with your IT team or administrator if you want more details.

Using Outlook on the web, users can reply to conversations, like posts, respond to polls, and answer questions with richly formatted messages that are similar to the full Viva Engage experience. For managers, this feature increases opportunities to share knowledge with and seek feedback from a broader audience, especially for employees who prefer to remain working in their email Inbox.

Interacting with Yammer in an Outlook email message

If you would like to see a Viva Engage email using the previous viewing experience, turn off this update on a per-email basis by clicking Hide Viva Engage Conversation at the bottom of the email. From this view, you can select the View Conversation button to see the post in Viva Engage.

Similarly, users of Outlook for Windows, Mac, and Outlook for mobile versions can Like and Comment on Viva Engage conversations right from within their inbox. These Outlook apps are optimized for quick task completion. If the user needs to perform any advanced actions on the Viva Engage conversation, the user can click on the View Conversation link in the email to view that conversation on Viva Engage.

If you want to manage notifications you get from Viva Engage, see Enable or disable Viva Engage email and phone notifications.
