Communicate or meet using Teams
Microsoft Teams is the messaging app for your organization—a workspace for meetings, real-time collaboration and communication, and file and app sharing. Teams has advanced security features built in so you can relax knowing your info is backed by enterprise-grade security.
Have your meetings in Teams
Schedule your meeting

In Teams, select Calendar > New meeting.

Invite people.

Add a location, or if it's an online meeting, leave the location blank.

Add a meeting goal, agenda, and link to a file if you like.
Start your meeting

Select Join.

Check your settings before you start.
When you're ready, select Join now.

Turn on your video to encourage others.

Blur the background if you want.

Some organizations recommend putting on your headset and muting your laptop speaker.

Once you're in the meeting, select More actions to Turn on live captions, Show meeting notes, or Start recording.
Note: If you record a meeting, let everyone know they're being recorded. For more information, select the Privacy policy button after you Start recording.

Use the menu bar to select controls to Share your screen, Mute your microphone, or Show conversation.
Tips:

Keep an eye on the meeting chat for comments and questions.

It's a good idea for participants to mute their microphone when they aren’t speaking—to reduce background noise and distractions.
Work in teams and channels
In Microsoft Teams, teams are groups of people, content, and tools brought together for work, projects, or common interests. A team is designed to bring together a group of people who work closely to get things done.
Teams are made up of channels. Channels are where you hold meetings, have conversations, and work on files together. Each channel is built around a specific topic, like “Team Events” or a department name.
The tabs at the top of each channel link to your favorite files, apps, and services. Every channel has three default tabs: Conversation (which shows all conversations happening in that channel), Files (which shows all the files saved to that channel), and Wiki (where you can collaborate in real time). You can add more tabs to further organize your information.
