The default schedule view for managers in Shifts desktop and web is the Team shifts view, which shows your team’s shifts. This view is where you create and manage your team schedule.

You have lots of options to customize the view and filter the schedule according to your needs to help you plan and make informed staffing decisions for your team. ​​​​​​​

At the upper left of the schedule, select the date range, and then choose the timeframe that you want to view.

View by day, week, or month

Quickly switch between day, week, and month views. Near the upper right of the schedule, choose DayWeek, or Month to narrow or expand your view.

Customize the view by people or shift

Customize the view by people or shift, and to show the items that you want to see. Select View and then choose your view settings.

Filter the schedule

Manage large schedules more easily by using filters to view portions of the schedule.

Select Filter, and then choose the Shifts, Groups, and/or Members filters to show what you want to see.

View and manage shift conflicts

To show shift conflicts in Shifts, select View, and make sure Shift conflicts is selected. It’s on by default. The following types of shift conflicts generate alerts in Shifts:

  • Overlapping shift conflict: This is when two or more shifts that overlap each other are assigned to the same person.

  • Time off conflict: A shift is assigned to an employee on a date and time when they have approved time off.

  • Availability conflict: A shift is assigned to an employee on a date and time that doesn’t match their availability settings.

View shift conflicts 

You’ll see alert icons in the schedule if a conflict occurs when you’re adding a shift or approving a request. You’ll also see alert icons on the Requests tab if a shift or time-off request would result in a conflict.  ​​​​​​​ View a shift conflict in the schedule in Shifts.​​​​​​​

Tip: To filter the schedule to see all shift conflicts, at the upper-right of the schedule, select Filter > Conflicts.

Manage shift conflicts

To manage a shift conflict, select the alert icon to view more details, and then make the necessary changes to resolve it.
