Turn on shift-based tags in Microsoft Teams
Applies To
Microsoft TeamsThis article applies to frontline managers.
Use shift-based tags to quickly and easily reach people who are on shift in Microsoft Teams. With this feature, team members are automatically assigned tags that match their schedule group name in Shifts.
Anyone on the team can use the tag in @mentions to start a chat or in a channel post in Teams. Notifications are sent only to those people who are on-shift at the time the tag is used.
For example:
-
A store manager uses the @Cashiers tag to post an announcement to a channel for all on-shift cashiers.
-
A nurse uses the @CardiologistsOnCall tag to start a chat with all on-call cardiologists.
