To sign up for Microsoft Teams (free), all you need is a Microsoft account. If you are using Skype, OneDrive, Outlook.com, or Xbox Live, then you already have one. If not, it’s easy to create a new Microsoft account

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Enter your email address or phone number and select Sign in.

  3. Enter your password or verification code and select Sign in.

You may be prompted to add a password if you didn't set one up previously.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Enter your personal email address or phone number and tap Next.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    Signing up for Microsoft Teams (free) is different than using your work account (usually assigned by an IT admin as a part of an organization with a license to use Teams) or your school account (as part of a school or educational institution). Learn more about Microsoft Teams (work or school).

  3. Select Create a free account​​​​​​​.

  4. Follow the instructions to create your Microsoft account.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Tap your profile picture or More button More .

  3. Tap Add account. From here you add a personal or small business account. Just enter your sign-in information and follow the instructions.

  3. Under Accounts and Orgs, select the account you'd like to switch to.

You can also swipe up or down on your profile picture to quickly switch accounts.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Tap your profile picture or More button More  .

  3. Under Accounts and Orgs, choose your personal or small business account.

  4. Tap Settings button Settings .

  5. Tap  Sign out button Sign out, then tap Sign out again to confirm.

If you've added a work or school account, you'll still be signed in there.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Select Get started.

  3. Enter your email address or phone number and select Next.

  4. Enter your password or verification code and select Sign in.

  3. Select the type of account you want to sign up with:

    • For my small business - To work with teammates, wherever they are.

    • With friends and family - For everyday life, to make audio or video calls.

  4. Follow the instructions to create your Microsoft account.

  1. Open the Teams app.

  2. Select your profile picture.

  3. Select Add personal account. From here you can add a personal account. Just enter your sign in information and follow the instructions.

  1. Go to Teams on the web.

  2. Select No account? Create one!.

  3. Follow the instructions to create your Microsoft account.

  1. In Teams on the web, select your profile picture.

  2. Select Sign out.
