To sign up for Microsoft Teams (free), all you need is a Microsoft account. If you are using Skype, OneDrive, Outlook.com, or Xbox Live, then you already have one. If not, it’s easy to create a new Microsoft account.

Open the Teams app.

Enter your email address or phone number and select Sign in.

Enter your password or verification code and select Sign in.
: You may be prompted to add a password if you didn't set one up previously.

Open the Teams app.

Enter your personal email address or phone number and tap Next.

Select Create a free account.

Follow the instructions to create your Microsoft account.

Open the Teams app.

Tap your profile picture or More .

Tap Add account. From here you add a personal or small business account. Just enter your sign-in information and follow the instructions.

Open the Teams app.

Tap your profile picture or More .

Under Accounts and Orgs, select the account you'd like to switch to.
: You can also swipe up or down on your profile picture to quickly switch accounts.

Open the Teams app.

Tap your profile picture or More .

Under Accounts and Orgs, choose your personal or small business account.

Tap Settings .

Tap Sign out, then tap Sign out again to confirm.
: If you've added a work or school account, you'll still be signed in there.

Select Get started.

Enter your email address or phone number and select Next.
