With a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can add expiration dates and passwords to files you share in OneDrive to make them more secure.

  1. In your browser, select a file or folder.

  2. Select Share.

  3. Select Link settings.

  4. Set an expiration date.

  5. Set a strong password.

  6. Select Apply.

  7. Type names, email addresses, add a message and select Send.

Or copy the link and share it however you want.

  8. Send the password in a separate message so recipients can open the file.

The link works until the expiration date. Create another link to give access again.
