Use Custom Emoji in Microsoft Teams
Create and communicate with user-uploaded emoji in Microsoft Teams. These custom emoji help build culture and identity, reinforce branding, provide tone, and add clarity to messages. Share custom emoji with anyone in the organization, including external users in shared channels.
Create a custom emoji
Users can create custom emoji from an image or GIF file for anyone in their organization to use as reactions and emoji.
Note: Admins may limit who can create custom emoji before they can be used. Additionally, anyone can right click on any custom emoji to see who created it and when.
To create a custom emoji:

Select Emoji, GIFs and Stickers on the right side of the message box, then choose Emoji.

At the bottom, you’ll see various emoji options. Select Your org’s emoji.

On the left, select Add emoji to choose any image or GIF file. Then create a name for your emoji.
Notes: When selecting emoji to upload, follow these guidelines:

Upload JPEG, PNG, or GIF files.

We recommend using square images.

Images will be compressed; select files under 256K.

Select Add emoji to include it in the list of custom emoji.
You can also add emoji when reacting to a message. To do so, hover over the text you’d like to react to. Then select More reactions > Your org’s emoji to choose your file and create your emoji.
Tip: Create custom reactions to help identify status or categorize responses during multi-step processes. For example, create unique emoji for each of your team members to show participation in collaborative projects. Or try using custom emoji to signify completion of specific processes. Choose a custom emoji
Use custom emoji in channel, chat and meeting messages and replies or to react to existing messages.
To choose a custom emoji:

Select Emoji, GIFs and Stickers on the right side of the message box, then choose Emoji.

Select Your org's emoji from the bottom right corner to browse custom emoji options. You can also search all emoji options from the Emoji tab at the top.

Select the emoji to add it to your message.
Tip: Any custom emoji or reaction that you've created will always show up at the top. Find recently used emoji by selecting Recent on the bottom left corner of Emoji, GIFs and Stickers .
To react with a custom emoji, hover over the text you'd like to react to. Then, select More reactions to search for the emoji.
Tip: Celebrate team accomplishments and shared experiences with custom reactions and emoji celebrating birthdays, work anniversaries, launches and events.
Delete a custom emoji
Note: Teams admins may limit who can delete custom emoji.
If you're able to delete a custom emoji, you'll see the option when you right-click on it. To delete the emoji, select Delete. Then confirm your choice.
Deleting it will immediately remove it from your list. However, it may take a few days to no longer show to everyone.
Tip: Still seeing a deleted emoji? Try clearing your cache to instantly remove it.
