Edit or delete a Group in Outlook

You can delete a group and all of its content on the same Edit Group screen. Remember, you can restore a deleted group for up to 30 days after it's deleted. Learn how to Manage expiring Groups in Outlook.

Edit or delete a Microsoft 365 Group in new Outlook
Note: These features are only available to individuals using a work or school account with a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription.

Open new Outlook.

There are two ways to find your groups:

Select Groups in the App bar located in the left of the window.

In the mailbox folder list, select Go to Groups.

From the Groups list, select the name of the group you'd like to edit.

Select Edit Group next to the group's name.

From here, you can edit the group Photo, Name, Email address, or Description. Under Edit Settings, you can update:

The group's privacy
-
Language for group-related notifications
-
External email settings to let people outside your organization email the group

The email subscription setting for new members
-

Select the Members tab to add members, change the status of members and owners, or delete members.
Delete a Microsoft 365 Group in new Outlook
When you delete a group, all of its inbox content and related data are also deleted.

To delete all group, use the instructions above to open the Edit Group screen and select Delete group.

Open classic Outlook.

In the mailbox folders list, under Groups, select your group.

From the ribbon, select Group Settings > Edit Group.

From here, you can edit the group Photo, Name, Privacy, or Description. You can also Add people and update:

The email subscription setting for new members

The language for group-related notifications

If people outside your organization can email the group
-

Select Save when you're done making updates
Delete a Microsoft 365 Group in classic Outlook
When you delete a group, all of its inbox content and related data are also deleted.

If you want to delete all group content and its related data, follow the instructions above to open the Edit Group screen, and then select Delete group.

Select Groups in the App bar located in the left of the window.

From the ribbon, select Edit Group.
