The Cost Type field displays the cost type, as selected in the Cost Type lookup table, which comes with Microsoft Project Server and can be modified to reflect the organization’s specific cost types.

Best Uses Add the Cost Type field to a resource page when you want to be able to indicate the cost type of a selected resource. The cost types can be items such as work or material costs, hourly or fixed costs, or any cost types appropriate to the organization.
Example You are the resource manager for the development of a Web-based customer service solution, and you want to track resource cost details. You add the Cost Type field to the Resource Center to ensure that all team leaders specify the cost type for resources on the project.
Remarks This field is an example of a custom enumerated field provided with Microsoft Project Server. You can view a list of available custom fields, and also create your own. In the left pane of Microsoft Project Web Access, click Server Settings. Under Enterprise Data, click Enterprise Custom Fields and Lookup Tables.
