You can add links to the body of email messages and display them as either full website addresses or any text that you choose.

Insert a hyperlink

  1. In the body of your message, position the cursor where you want to add a link and select the Add a Hyperlink  Insert Hyperlink button Outlook for Mac button (or press the shortcut keys Command ⌘+ K).

  2. In the Insert Hyperlink window, you can select from different options such as Web Page or File, This Document, or Email Address:

    • For Web Page or File: Enter the full website address.

    • For This Document: Select a location such as Top of the Document, Headings, or Bookmarks to add a link within the same document.

    • For Email Address: Include both the email address and subject in the designated fields.

  3. To include text for your message, enter it in the Text box. If you prefer the link to be displayed as a full hyperlink address, you may leave the Text box blank.

Change text into a hyperlink

  1. To insert a hyperlink, select the text you want to hyperlink and select the Add a Hyperlink  Insert Hyperlink button Outlook for Mac button.

  2. In the Insert Hyperlink window, type the address for the link and select OK.

Remove a hyperlink

  1. To remove the text of a hyperlink, place your cursor within the link text in the body of your message.

  2. In the Format menu (or press the shortcut keys + K), select Add a Hyperlink  Insert Hyperlink button Outlook for Mac, and then select Remove Link.

  1. In the body of your message, position the cursor where you want to add a link.

  2. In the Message tab on the ribbon, select Insert Link or you can use the shortcut key Command ⌘+ K.

  3. In the Insert Hyperlink window, choose Web Page or File, This Document, or Email Address:

    • For Web Page or File: Add the full website address.

    • For This Document: Select a place in the Document by choosing Top of the Document, Headings, or Bookmarks.

    • For Email Address: Add an Email address and Subject.

  4. In the Text to Display box, type the text you want to appear in your message. If you want the link displayed as a full hyperlink address, leave the Text box empty.

Change text into a hyperlink

  1. In your message, select the text you want to change into a hyperlink.

  2. On the Message tab on the Ribbon, select Insert Link, or under the Format menu, select Hyperlink.

  3. In the Insert Link box, type the address for the link and select OK.

Remove a hyperlink

  1. In the body of your message, position the cursor inside the link text.

  2. In the Message tab on the Ribbon, select Insert Link or under the Format menu, select Hyperlink (or press the shortcut keys Command + K), and then select Remove Link.
