The Update Needed field indicates whether a Microsoft Office Project Server update should be sent to the assigned team members because of changes to a task's start date, finish date, or assignments.

There are several categories of Update Needed fields.

Data Type    Yes/No

Update Needed (task field)

Entry Type    Calculated

How Calculated    The Update Needed field contains Yes when any task assigned with a Project Server update has changed. This field contains No for any task that was not assigned with an update or for any task that has not changed since the last update was sent.

Best Uses    Add the Update Needed field to a task view to learn who needs a Project Server update because of recent changes to the schedule.
