Note: This article applies to Clipchamp for personal accounts and does not apply to Clipchamp for work accounts.
Microsoft Clipchamp is removing support for Facebook login. Here’s what you need to know.
Why the change?
Clipchamp is a Microsoft product, and we want to create seamless experiences with other products that use your Microsoft account, such as OneDrive. This means that you need to use a personal or family Microsoft account to log into Clipchamp.
What will happen?
Clipchamp users who log in with Facebook are currently being directed to link and sign in with a Microsoft personal or family account. This will continue until January 21, 2024.
When is the change taking effect?
From January 21, 2024, you won't be able to use your Facebook login for your Clipchamp account. If you didn't connect a personal or family Microsoft account to your Clipchamp account before January 21, 2024, you won't be able to access this Clipchamp account anymore and will be required to create a new account to access Clipchamp.
Will this impact my projects or videos?
Your projects will only be affected if you fail to connect your Clipchamp account created via Facebook login to a Microsoft personal or family account prior to January 21, 2024. You will retain your projects and videos when you connect your Microsoft account.
How do I connect my Clipchamp account to my Microsoft account?
You can find instructions on how to connect a personal or family Microsoft account in this help article.
What if I don’t want to connect a personal Microsoft account?
If you do not wish to connect a Microsoft personal or family account, you will be unable to continue using the Clipchamp app. You can submit a request for account deletion here.
How can I export my data?
If you would not like to continue using Clipchamp, you will be able to export any in-progress videos and then delete your account, as directed above.
