Use the Kindle instant preview web part
Applies ToSharePoint in Microsoft 365 Microsoft 365 admin

When you add a modern page to a site, you add and customize web parts, which are the building blocks of your page.

Have a book you want to recommend or promote on your page? You can easily share a preview of a Kindle book using the Kindle instant preview web part. To use this web part, you'll need to get the embed code of the book you want to preview. To learn how to do that, see the Kindle instant preview site.

Notes:

  • Some functionality is introduced gradually to organizations that have opted in to the Targeted Release program. This means that you may not yet see this feature or it may look different than what is described in the help articles.

  • If you don't see this web part in the web part toolbox, your administrator may have disabled it.

  • The Kindle instant preview web part is not available in SharePoint Server 2019.

Add the Kindle instant preview web part

  1. If you're not in edit mode already, click Edit at the top right of the page. Find the Toolbox (Toolbox icon in content pane) on the right.

  2. Select See all web parts, then select or drag-and-drop Kindle instant preview from the list of web parts.

  3. Click Add preview.

  4. Click Edit properties (Icon for editing web part and section properties), then enter the embed code. You can find the embed code by following the instructions on the Kindle instant preview site.

  5. Set the options you want:

    • Size of preview

    • Show book content (in place, or in a new tab)

    • Show buy button

    • Show share button

    • Associate ID (optional) - add this if you are part of the Amazon Associates program.

Note: Administrators familiar with SharePoint PowerShell can hide this web part from the web part toolbox by using the command Set-SPOTenant [-DisabledWebPartIds <Guid>]. See the PowerShell reference for Set-SPOTenant for more information.
