SYMPTOMS

If a distribution group has multiple owners, the Members list on the group’s contact card in Microsoft Outlook for Windows:

  • Includes one owner whose role displays as Owner. That owner might not be a member of the group.

  • Includes all other owners who are members. For each of these owners, their role displays as Member.

  • Excludes all other owners who aren’t members.

CAUSE

Outlook for Windows doesn’t optimally display distribution group owners.

STATUS: WORKAROUND

Use Outlook on the web to view distribution group owners. Outlook on the web displays owners and members as follows:

  • Owners who aren't group members display in an Owners list.

  • Members who aren't group owners display in a Members list.

  • Owners who are group members display in both the Owners and Members lists.
