Like most modern software, OneNote for Mac is frequently updated to add new functionality and to improve existing features. You can set up OneNote to periodically check for updates automatically, or you can do so manually on your own.
Check for updates automatically
-
On the top menu bar, click Help > Check for Updates.
-
In the Microsoft AutoUpdate dialog box that opens, select either the Automatically Check or the Automatically Download and Install option.
-
Click Check for Updates.
Even if no new updates are found after following these steps, the automatic update preferences you’ve selected will remain in effect after you close Microsoft AutoUpdate.
Note: If Check for Updates is not available, you may need to check for updates by going to the App Store directly from your Mac. Once you're at the App Store, on the left, click Updates to see if a OneNote update is available.
Turn off automatic updates and check for updates manually
Following these steps checks for new updates once and then turns off Microsoft AutoUpdate.
Note: To receive the latest software updates for OneNote in the future, you’ll need to remember to periodically check for new updates again on your own.
-
On the menu bar, click Help > Check for Updates.
-
In the Microsoft AutoUpdate dialog box that opens, select Manually Check.
-
Click Check for Updates.
