Whenever you add a picture, Sway tries to identify things like faces, horizons, and other strong lines. Sway then considers how all of these elements work together and where the picture is being used (for example, in a heading or a title). How much of the inserted image will be shown and which parts may be cropped further depend on the constraints of your current device as well as the applied layout and style.
While Smart Cropping in Sway works well in most cases, you can easily mark the most important parts of an inserted picture to make sure that those parts are always shown.
Do the following:

Click the picture whose Focus Points you want to edit.

Do either of the following:

If you’re editing your Sway from the Storyline, click Focus Points.

If you’re editing your Sway from the Design canvas, click Focus Points from the option that appears.

In the Focus Points pane that opens, do any of the following:

To add Focus Points to the parts of the picture you always want shown in your Sway, click those areas in the selected picture. You can add as many Focus Points as you want.

To change any existing Focus Point, drag it to the new location you want.

To delete any unneeded Focus Point, click it.

To always show the entire picture in your Sway, select the The entire image is important check box.

To reset the picture to its original state, click the Reset button.

The appearance of an inserted picture depends on the type of device your Sway is being viewed on, they style you have applied to your content, and the current position of the inserted picture.
All of the parts of a picture that have been marked with a Focus Point will always be shown when you play your Sway. As such Focus Points may also be used to help animate important parts of a picture, not all of the Focus Points may always be visible while viewing the Design of your Sway. In addition to guiding animations, Focus Points can also modify a picture that wasn’t previously being cropped in any way.
