Step 1. Select your background media
Import your own media or use royalty-free stock media as the background for your video. For this tutorial, we will use a stock video.
Click on the content library tab, then click on the visuals drop down menu arrow to select the backgrounds collection. Drag and drop your stock video onto the timeline.
Step 2. Select your overlay media
Repeat step one to select the video or image you want to place on top of your background. Click on the content library tab to select a stock video.
Drag and drop your video onto the timeline ensuring the media asset is placed above the background asset on the timeline.
Now that you have two videos playing simultaneously, both audio tracks may play at the same time making them difficult to hear.
To mute the audio, click on the video on the timeline. Next, click on the audio tab on the property panel then adjust the volume slider down to 0% to mute. You can also detach the audio and delete it.
Step 3. Edit your video-on-video overlay
There are two different ways to create a picture-in-picture effect.
Option A
Click on the top video on the timeline. Next, click on the three dots in the floating toolbar to access more editing options. Click on the picture-in-picture button then choose the position of your overlay video. You can select top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right.
You can also freely adjust the size of your picture-in-picture video. If the video overlay is too small or in the wrong position, drag the corners to resize your video.
Option B
Click on the top video on the timeline. Use the freehand crop corners to resize your video and freely reposition the video around the preview screen.
