Note: The screenshots in this tutorial are from Clipchamp for personal accounts. Some text options shown in the screenshots are not available at this stage in Clipchamp for work. Development is underway for both the personal and work versions of Clipchamp to align available options over time.
How to add text and titles to video
Step 1. Preview and select text or title
Click on the text tab on the toolbar to browse all text and title options. Hover your cursor over the title to preview the animation of each text option.
Step 2. Add your text or title onto the timeline
Choose your text asset then click on the add to timeline button or drag and drop the text onto the timeline above your video and all other assets.
Step 3. Edit and customize your text or title
Click on the text tab on the property panel then click on the text field to change the content of your text asset. Here, you can also personalize the font, size, alignment, color, background color (available for some text options) and other text settings.
How to edit the duration of text on the timeline
To change the running time of your text asset, use the text handle bars. Click on the text asset on the editing timeline so it's highlighted, then drag the handle to the left to make the text asset run shorter and drag to the right to make it run longer.
How to remove text from a video
To remove any text asset from the timeline, click on the text asset then click on the delete button on your keyboard. You can also use the redo and undo buttons to cancel or repeat an edit.
How to replace text on the timeline
If you want to change your title selection, drag and drop another text option over the top of your existing asset on the timeline. This will instantly replace it. You will have to customize the text again and what it reads using the text tab on the property panel.
