How does the Magic Link option work?
Applies ToClipchamp for personal accounts

Note: The information in this article applies to Clipchamp for personal accounts. To learn how to access Clipchamp for work accounts instead, see this FAQ.

Clipchamp offers the option to sign up to a new account or to log in to an existing account without a password. This works by means of a link you get sent via email and that you can use to get in to your Clipchamp account. Each link is unique and can only get used once to access your account.

How to sign in via magic link

When you are signed out of Clipchamp and would like to sign in with a magic link,

  • select "Continue with email" on the Sign-In page,

  • enter your email address,

  • select "Send a link to my email" and then

  • click on the link in the email we send to your inbox.

Magic links expire after 1 hour. If your link expired, reload the Clipchamp Sign-In page and go through the steps above to have a new link sent to you.

Checks to try if the email with the link doesn't arrive

Depending on network conditions in the email sending infrastructure we use, it can take up to a few minutes for the email from Clipchamp to arrive. If it's not in your inbox after some time,

- check your Spam folder, the email might have been incorrectly classified as spam,

- make sure you don't have email forwarding to another inbox set up for the address you use with Clipchamp and that you're checking the correct inbox,

- if you're using a work email, make sure your organization's corporate firewall doesn't block messages from Clipchamp. Your organization's IT team will be able to help you with such a check.

Alternative sign-in methods

In addition to the magic link method, Clipchamp offers other ways to access your account. Please see the section How to add another sign-in methodin this article to learn how to set up alternatives.
