Applies ToLync 2013 for iPad

When you’re attending, via your iPad, a Lync Meeting or an ad hoc audio or video conference call with three or more people, you can view content that’s being shared, whether it’s being presented from within an application or from another attendee’s screen. (You can’t present meeting content from Lync for iPad, and you can’t view shared meeting content when you’re in an ad hoc audio or video call with just one other person.) You’ll get an invitation to view the shared content, which you can accept or decline, unless you join the meeting after it’s started, in which case the shared content will appear automatically.

When you’re viewing content in a meeting, you can tap Stop Viewing to stop viewing content. To resume viewing, (if the content is still being presented), tap the Sharing icon at the top, and then select Start Viewing.

Here are other things you can do using Lync for iPad in a Lync Meeting:

  • Tap the Mute icon on the upper right to mute and unmute yourself.

  • Tap the Hold icon to put the call on hold and tap Hold again to resume the call.

  • Tap the Dial pad icon to use the dial pad.

  • Tap the Speaker icon to switch between audio devices.

  • Tap the More icon and then tap Invite to add others (individuals or groups) to the meeting.

  • Tap the icons at the top to send an IM, escalate to a video call, or view the participants list.

  • Tap the arrow icon on the upper left to restore down or maximize the conversation screen.

  • Tap Rejoin at bottom of the screen to rejoin the meeting or conversation after having left or been disconnected.

  • Tap the More icon and then tap End Conversation to end the entire conversation.

  • Tap the More icon and then tap See Participants to view the meeting roster.

Once you are in the meeting roster view, you can:

  • Tell which participants are presenters and which are attendees. (Presenters have more rights and control than attendees, and it can be useful to know who can do what in the meeting.)

  • Tell what communication modes each participant has available. (Indicated by the icons for IM, voice, video, and sharing.)

  • Invite someone to the meeting. (On the roster view, tap the More icon, tap Invite, find the person via search, then tap the person’s listing. Option available to presenters only.)

  • Remove participants from the meeting—for example, those who have been added by. (Tap the participant’s listing on the roster, then tap Remove. Presenters only.)

  • Mute participants. (Tap the participant’s listing on the roster, then tap Mute. Presenters only.)

When you’re in a video call, tap the Video icon, and then tap one of the following:

  • Switch Camera to switch from the front or back iPad camera.

  • My Camera Off to turn off your video, but you can still see other people’s video.

  • Leave Video to end everyone’s video for you only, but you’ll still have audio.
