Applies ToEmail for Windows 10

This article is for people who use a screen reader program such as Windows Narrator, JAWS, or NVDA with Windows tools or features and  Microsoft 365 products. This article is part of the Accessibility help & learning content set where you can find more accessibility information on our apps. For general help, visit Microsoft Support.

Use Mail for Windows 10 with your keyboard and a screen reader to save an attached file from an email to your device. We have tested it with Narrator, JAWS, and NVDA, but it might work with other screen readers as long as they follow common accessibility standards and techniques.

Notes:

Save an attachment from an email

  1. Open the email message that contains the attachment you want to save to your device.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To save all attachments in the mail to the same folder, press the Tab key until you hear "Save all attachments," and then press Enter. The Windows Select Folder dialog box opens.

    • If there's only one attachment or you want to save the attachments one by one into different folders, press the Tab key until you hear "Open," followed by the attachment file name. Press the Down arrow key until you hear "Save, button," and press Enter. The Windows Save As dialog box opens.
