Let people know if you’re working from the office or remotely by setting up your work location for the day. Now they’ll know which days you’ll be in the office or working from home, making it easier to coordinate in-person meetings. Whenever something comes up, update your plans in Outlook or Teams to reflect your location across both.

Note: Microsoft Places building location services in Teams is available as part of the public preview program and might undergo further changes before being released publicly. To get access to this and other upcoming features, switch to Teams public preview.

Set your work location

To set your work location for the day in Teams:  

  1. Select the account manager at the top right of Teams.

  2. Next to your status, choose your work location from the location dropdown menu. If you are working in the office and you want to set your building location, select Add a building. Only buildings in your organization can be added. Your changes will be applied to your work hours for the remainder of the day and will be reflected in both Teams and Outlook.  Setting a building location in profile

Update your work location

When your schedule changes, it's easy to update your work location or clear it, right from Teams.

Select the account manager at the top right of Teams, and change or clear your work location. The new location will be applied to your work hours for the remainder of the day and reflected in both Teams and Outlook.

  1. Select your profile picture at the top left of the Teams app.

  2. Select Set your work location, and choose your work location from the available options. Your changes will be applied to your work hours for the remainder of the day and will be reflected in both Teams and Outlook.  screenshot of mobile menu with work location option

Update your work location
