Create a site

  1. Sign in to office.com/sign-in.

  2. Select the Microsoft 365 App Launcher  The app launcher icon in Office 365 and then selectSharePoint.

    Can't find the app you're looking for? From the app launcher, select More apps to see an alphabetical list of the Microsoft 365 apps available to you. From there, you can search for a specific app.

  4. Select whether you'd like to create a Team site or a Communication site.

  5. Select a template in the Select a template dialog box (from Microsoft or from your organization).Screenshot showing the templates you can use with your new SharePoint online site.

  6. Name your site. Then you'll be asked to add a Site description and select Next. ​​​​​​​ Screenshot showing how to give a name to a new SharePoint online site.

  7. Set your Privacy settings and the language you want on your site and select Create site.

  8. Add the names or email addresses for everyone you want to be a member of your new site and then select Finish.

Add a page to a site

  1. Go to the home page of the site where you want to add a page.

  3. Select a template from the Page templates dialog box and select Create page.

Add contents to a page

Use web parts to add text, images, links, documents and more to your page.

If the content pane is enabled:

  1. At the top right of the page, select Edit. The Toolbox appears. You'll see a curated list of web parts to choose from.Screenshot showing the Toolbox and some of the available web parts.

  2. ​​​​​​​Select or click-and-drag the web part you want to add.

You can also access available web parts without opening the Toolbox, or if the content pane isn't enabled:

  1. At the top right of the page, select Edit. Hover under the title (or between existing web parts) and select the +.Screenshot showing the Toolbox from where you're working on the site page.

  2. Select the web part you want to add.

Customize navigation
