Sometimes it may seem that Microsoft has charged you twice or taken double payments.

Double payments can occur for different reasons. Review your order history below to check for multiple purchases caused by the possible reasons below:

  1. If we cannot take payment due to insufficient funds, we will keep trying until successful. This may mean that the “late” payment and then the next “on time” payment could appear very close to each other as we try to catch up. You can verify whether you've been charged twice by looking back over the last few months of your order history and banking statements: if you were only charged 3 times within the last 90 days, then you have not been charged twice.

  2. If you intentionally purchase multiple subscription time periods (e.g. to get 2 years’ worth of Xbox Live Gold), they will appear as multiple transactions on your bank or credit card statement.

  3. If you select “Back” during the purchase process, you may end up make multiple purchases.
