A Bluetooth Personal Area Network (BTPAN) is another way to share Internet connectivity between devices wirelessly. You can use this feature to connect your computer to a PC or phone’s hotspot through Bluetooth instead of using Wi-Fi.
To use BTPAN, you will need a Bluetooth adapter on your computer, and another device that has Bluetooth and supports hotspot functionality. Here's how:
-
Turn on Bluetooth on both devices, and ensure the devices are paired to each other. For more, see Pair a Bluetooth device in Windows.
-
On the other device, activate the hotspot and set it to share over Bluetooth.
-
Back on your PC, right-click (or long-press) Start , then select Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices and find your phone or other PC that you just paired with in the list.
-
On the right side, select More Options > Join Personal Area Network (PAN).
-
You may need to select the connection mode, then select Connect in the dialog that appears.
-
You will see the status of the connection on the Devices page. You can disconnect by selecting More Options again, then select Disconnect PAN.
