Every class team has a Grades tab where educators can view assignments as well as track how individual students are progressing in class. Use the Grades tab to see an overview of your class, access data quickly, and open or return student work.
Navigate the Grades tab
To open the Grades tab, navigate to your desired class team and select Grades.

You'll see that students appear in a column, with their assignments in a row next to their name. Assignments are listed in order by due date, with the nearest date at the beginning.
Note: The class average is displayed at the top of the list of student names, and each student's average is shown next to their own name. You can change the date-range in the top right corner to view grade averages for a certain time frame.
Viewing an assignment
Select an assignment to open it and view details.
Export all grades in this class as a .csv file by selecting Export to Excel.
Status of student work
When students view and turn in work, you'll see a status in the cell associated with their name and assignment.
Viewed |
The student has opened and viewed the assignment. |
Turned in |
The student has turned in the assignment and their work is ready to be graded. |
Returned or points |
After you've graded student work, the points assigned will show. You'll see Returnedif the assignment doesn't have points. |
Blank |
No action has been taken on the assignment yet. |
Take action on student work
Each cell in the Grades tab grid can be edited. Simply select it to make a change.
You can also select More options in the cell to open the student's work, or select Return to quickly return graded work to them.
Mark your student as excused from an assignment
1. Navigate to a student's name in your To return list.
Tip: Select the arrow to sort students in ascending or descending alphabetical order.
2. Select the dropdown arrow next to Return, then select Return for revision.
3. Choose the option for Mark as excused and return.
4. A dialogue box will appear asking you if you wish to mark this submission as excused. Be aware that all rubric data and points will be removed. Feedback will still be shared the student.
5. Choose the Mark as excused button.
6. Students with their assignments marked as excused will have their status changed to "Excused."

Select any student's name to view a detailed list of their grades in your class so far.
Tip: Use the search bar to quickly find specific students.
Each student's assignments are listed with the nearest due date at the top by default. Here you can view the assignment's title, its status, and how many points have been awarded so far.

Sort assignments by date or title by using the arrows.

To quickly open student work and grade it, select the status next to the assignment.

Export all of one student's grades in this class as a .csv file by selecting Export to Excel.
