Is my OneDrive about to be deleted?

If you receive an email which says "Your OneDrive is inactive and will soon be deleted", it's for one or more of these reasons, and the contents of your OneDrive will be deleted soon:

  • You haven't used your OneDrive account in two years.

  • You have exceeded your OneDrive storage limit.

Tips:

  • If you don't think this applies to you, it could be you used your work or school account to create a personal Microsoft account some years ago.

  • This could have been for Xbox, Skype, or Outlook.com, but it resulted in a OneDrive account also being created. This is normal for all Microsoft Accounts.
