ISSUE

When you add a Gmail account to Outlook, you are prompted for a username and password. You are then prompted to select Allow for Microsoft Apps & Services.  After you choose Allow you get the following error:

"Sorry, we could not sign you in to Google - IMAP.

Please try again later."

STATUS:  FIXED

This issue is fixed in Version 2008 Build 13127.20296.  For build status by channel see the Update History page.

WORKAROUND

Until the fixed version is available to all channels use the following workaround:

1.  Open Outlook or any other Office Application 2.  Select File, Office Account 3.  Under Account Privacy, choose Manage Settings 4.  Check the box Enable optional connected experiences

After enabling Connected Experiences, restart Outlook and proceed to configure the Gmail account.
