Applies ToExcel for Microsoft 365

Let’s apply transformations. The first one makes sure the column headers are friendly. For example, "product name" is a much nicer than "txt_ProdNam".

  1. In the query pane, select Edit to open the Power Query editor.

  2. To confirm that Power Query recognized your headers in the top row, select Home > Transform, and then select Use first row as headers. Power Query converts the first row of data to a header row. To return to the original headers, you can delete that step.

  3. To rename the columns, double-click each column header and type the name you want or edit an existing one.

  4. To return the transformed data to the Excel worksheet, select Home > Close & Load.
