The Response Pending fields indicate whether an acknowledgment has been received from team members assigned to tasks.

There are several categories of Response Pending fields. Learn more about field categories.

Data Type    Yes/No

Response Pending (task field)

Entry Type    Calculated

How Calculated    As soon as you send assignment updates to the team members assigned to a task, Microsoft Office Project enters Yes in the Response Pending field. As soon as you receive all responses from all assigned team members, the Yes changes to No.

Best Uses    Add the Response Pending field, along with the Confirmed field, to a task sheet to track your negotiation of task assignments with team members.

Example    You like to periodically check which tasks have outstanding assignment update responses. You add the Response Pending field to a task sheet. You can then follow up on any pending responses that are causing delays in your task assignments.

Best Uses    Add the Response Pending field, along with the Confirmed field, to a resource sheet to track the status of task assignments made by using Project Server. This field displays the team members from whom you still need responses in order to complete your assignment settings.

Example    You like to periodically check which team members have not responded to assignment updates. You add the Response Pending field to a resource view. You can then follow up on any pending responses that are causing delays in your task assignments.
