If you are dissatisfied with Microsoft Office Click-to-Run editions of Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student or Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business or if your problem is one of the known issues for Office 2010 Click-to-Run, it might be better for you to use the MSI-based edition of Microsoft Office.

Switch from Office 2010 Click-to-Run to MSI-based Office 2010

The license is the same. You do not need a new Product Key. If you have any questions, contact Microsoft Support.

  1. Save all work, and then close all programs.

  2. In Control Panel, open Programs and Features to see a list of installed programs.

  3. Click Microsoft Office Click-To-Run 2010, and then click Uninstall.

  4. To remove Microsoft Office Click-to-Run, click Yes.

  5. Go to the Download Earlier Versions of Office page.

  6. Enter your product key, and then click Verify.

  7. Select the language you want to install, and then click Confirm.

  8. Select the 64-bit or 32-bit version. Not sure which to select? Choose between the 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office.

  9. Depending on your browser, select Run, Setup, or Save File.

  10. From the User Account Control window, select Yes to launch the SingleImage.exe.

  11. Follow the remaining installation prompts.
