Note: By default, all members of a team can create channels, though a team owner or admin can restrict who can create channels.

On the left, select

Select the ellipsis (...) next to the team name and choose

Enter a Channel name and an optional Description.

Choose Standard or Private under Choose a channel type, and then select Create. Depending on your permissions, you may or may not have a privacy setting. Note that only team owners can create Shared channels.
Warning: Once you've created a channel, you can't change the privacy setting. Be sure you choose the one you need. For more info, see Change a channel's privacy setting.
