  1. Select the text box or shape, then on the Home tab select  The Text Direction button in PowerPoint. Text Direction

  2. Choose the direction you want—horizontal, rotated, or stacked.

Changing text direction isn't currently possible in PowerPoint for the web. You can, however, change text direction in the PowerPoint desktop app.

  • To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing button pencil icon Editing and choose Open in Desktop App.

You can rotate a text box on its center point in PowerPoint for the web:

  1. Select the text box or shape you want to rotate.

  2. Click and drag the rotation handle Rotation handle in the direction you want to rotate the text.
